Laurierathletics.com gets cleaner look; more features

WATERLOO, Ont. (August 21, 2012) - Wilfrid Laurier Athletics and Recreation proudly unveiled a brand new design for their website, laurierathletics.com, as they relaunched the site on Monday evening.

"This updated look for laurierathletics.com will benefit all of those involved with Wilfrid Laurier Athletics and Recreation," commented Ari Grossman, the Associate Director of Business Operations. "The new features on the site allow us to meet the ever changing demands of our consumers while also providing visitors quick and easy access to everything they want to know about our operations." "Our new design once against reaffirms our commitment to being a leader of technology across Canadian university athletic departments", says Peter Baxter, the Director of Athletics and Recreation. "The time and energy that our staff has put into this redesign is a direct demonstration of this commitment."?

Featuring a cleaner look, the new main page integrates all of the great qualities of the old design while providing a number of new features for visitors. A pair of redesigned navigation bars allows fans to quickly purchase tickets to events, access social media, and also navigate through the various areas of the department, including varsity sports, clubs, facilities, intramurals and recreation.

Underneath the scoreboard, a holdover from the previous website, the headlines area features a large picture window as well as a new teaser bar to give fans quicker access to the stories they want to read. Included with headlines are two new tabs which give visitors easy access to Hawks TV, your source for live Golden Hawks webcasts and YouTube vidoes, as well as a social media tab that features the latest postings from the Laurier Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Also included on the main page are tabs with quick access to upcoming games, results, records as well as photos for purchase. A feature accordion tab on the bottom right side of the main page allows visitors to view Laurier Bookstore Athletes of the Week, Morty's Pub Fans of the Game, Pizza Pizza Intramural Team of the Week as well as the Hawks overall record and athlete profiles.

With many of these features being integrated across all the pages on the new site, fans will truly be able to stay connected to the Golden Hawks like never before.
